AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs shared the spoils in the DStv Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday evening, playing to a 1-1 draw.

Kaizer Chiefs had the majority of chances to score and went ahead early through Ashley du Preez, who took advantage of an unsure Usuthu defence playing out from the back with constant pressing in the first two minutes.

Following that, AmaZulu recovered quickly and got their bearings, keeping the majority of the possession in the first half.

Mduduzi Shabalala would come close to doubling the lead for the Glamour Boys in the 36th minute but his effort hit the woodwork.

Shortly afterwards, in the 38th minute Victor Letsoalo scored a header as the Chiefs defence was caught napping.

The second half was just as competitive, Hendrick Ekstein had a shot from outside the box but his effort was saved in the 61st minute by Bruce Bvuma.

Christian Saile also had a go, but his chance was saved by Veli Mothwa seven minutes later.

In order to have a last push to find the winning goal, Pablo Franco Martin made a triple change for AmaZulu.

It was not to be for the KZN team, who did well to come from behind and get a share of the points.
