Chiefs release winger Sekgota
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed they have released winger Kgaogelo Sekgota after two seasons at Naturena, allowing the player to move to a club of his choice as a free agent.
The 26-year-old made only 10 DStv Premiership starts in his two seasons at Chiefs, with another four in cup competitions, as he was used predominantly off the bench following his arrival from Moroka Swallows ahead of the 2021/22 season.
He made 34 substitute appearances and failed to find the back of the net, leading to some frustration from fans.
Sekgota’s next move had not been made known, but there have been reports in recent days that he may be on the way to Stellenbosch FC.
He has previously played in Lithuania and Portugal, and has four Bafana Bafana caps from the 2019 and 2022 COSAFA Cups.
