The launch of SuperSport Unplugged will offer added value for our loyal viewers, who can stream content for free on SuperSport’s YouTube channel. SuperSport Unplugged is a vodcast aimed at giving fans more content and to create more conversation around the sports and sports personalities they adore.

SuperSport.com will bring match reports, fixtures, results, live scores, logs and highlights, making sure that you never miss a beat when it comes to the Betway Premiership. Our social media platforms will continue enticing fans with the greatest moments and content during the league season.

Announcing the Betway sponsorship on Wednesday this week, the PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza said: “Talking about MultiChoice and SuperSport, this is one corporate citizen that I regard highly. During Covid, when we were in trouble … our sponsor and partner never asked for a refund for non-performance of what we promised them. They said, we understand; count on us. I want to thank you for that. That’s what partnerships are all about.

“Today we have our own channel on DStv (SuperSport PSL, 202). Anything we do to promote, produce or project, we have that channel. We now have the Betway Premiership as the sponsor of the league.

“Sitting here as the chairman of this league, I am not surprised when they say we are one of the top 20 leagues in the world. Because we know the importance of the fixture, a fixture is important for planning and to advance the purpose intended for.

“When we invite sponsors, we invite them because we are saying we have the audience, we have the platform of go-to transaction volumes, which we call the customers.”

The start date for local football is set for 3 August with the MTN8. The Betway Premiership schedule is set for 14 September. Prize money and the trophy will be revealed at a later stage.

The Betway Premiership is part of an exciting array of football in the New Football Season, including all local cups such as the MTN8, the Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.

The DStv Diski Challenge, Motsepe Foundation Championship and the DStv eKasi Games will continue being a part of SuperSport's local football offering.

The English Premier League, Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A and the Uefa Champions League, which is bringing a new format that has more strength versus strength matches, plus the Uefa Europa and Conference League will be live on SuperSport.

This means viewers will get all the FootbALL, ALL the best leagues, ALL the unscripted drama and ALL the best players only on Your World of Champions.
