A first-half goal was enough for Tanzanian giants Yanga FC to beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in a pre-season friendly match at a sold-out Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania on Saturday night.
This was new coach Molefi Ntseki's first game in charge of the Glamour Boys.
The coach missed a few players due to niggles, including Keagan Dolly, Ashley Du Preez, Wandile Duba and new striker Ranga Chivaviro.
A total of six players made their debut for AmaKhosi in Ntseki’s starting line-up with Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe forming a new centre-back pairing while Zitha Kwinika and Edmilson Dove completed the back four.
While Chiefs lacked fluency throughout the game, they did show some glimpses of what is to come, but they just couldn't find the equaliser.
Amakhosi take on Botswana team Township Rollers next Saturday at the National Stadium in Gaborone.
