Golden Arrows will be looking to make home advantage count when Swallows visit the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban, in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
Abafana Bes'thende have managed to win just one of their three home games this season and they are aiming to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at Tuks Stadium.
Vusumuzi Vilakazi's side saw a four-match unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of the Brazilians, which left them 12th in the standings on eight points, two clear of the relegation zone.
Pule Mmodi was on target against Sundowns to take his tally for the campaign to three goals and Vilakazi believes the winger is starting to rediscover his best form.
"He's got three goals now, I think he is slowly coming back. He is still not the best Pule - the one that we know... but he looks sharp now, he is scoring goals for us," the Arrows coach said.
"We're still yet to see the best of Pule, but he is doing very well. We are happy with his performance."
The Dube Birds have yet to record a victory on the road this term, although they drew their last two matches away from home against Maritzburg United (0-0) and Marumo Gallants (1-1).
Dylan Kerr's team also lost their last league encounter 2-1 to Stellenbosch at the BidVest Stadium and they are tied with Arrows on eight points, but directly above them on the table due to a superior goal difference.
Kerr admits he is at a loss as to why his players don't perform on matchdays, given how well they do in training, but he suggested the problem could be with their mentality.
"We prepared on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday how to approach this game. We want to get goals, we want to attack, we want to try and penetrate," he said.
"Everything in the previous game was slow, everything went backwards and if that happens in training then I'd be concerned, but it doesn't. You've got to look at are the players mentally prepared to play or are they just mentally prepared to train?"
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Golden Arrows
Pule Mmodi:The winger was perhaps fortunate to score against Masandawana after his ball into the danger area eluded everyone, including Ronwen Williams before it nestled into the bottom right corner of the net. It was his third goal in as many games and Mmodi is just one short of equalling his tally of four in the league last season.
Lungelo Dube:The midfielder was a regular feature for Arrows last season and he's missed just one game thus far in the new campaign as his consistent performances have earned the trust of Vilakazi. Dube tested Williams with a firm strike from outside the box in the first half as he looked to break his duck for Abafana Bes'thende.
Swallows
Tshediso Patjie:The midfielder made a bright start against Stellies as he showed good skill on the right to get away from his marker before putting in a cross that just eluded Waseem Isaacs at the back post. Patjie's influence waned as the game progressed but Kerr will be looking for more of that-trickery in the weeks to come.
Thato Makua:The 21-year-old has shown some promise following his arrival from Kaizer Chiefs during the off-season and was handed his first start of the campaign against the Maroons. Kerr could be relying more on the youngster in the coming weeks as he seeks to find the right combinations in midfield.
