Kaizer Chiefs supporters finally got as first look at their new striking signing on Saturday and now get a chance to learn more about his most unusual name.

Efmamjjasond González prefers to go by Jasond González and given that his real name is almost unpronounceable, never mind long, it is understandable why.

Efmamjjasond is taken from the initial letter of each of the 12 months of the year in Spanish:

E (Enero = January)
F (Febrero = February)
M (Marzo = March)
A (Abril = April)
M (Mayo = May)
J (Junio =June)
J (Julio = July)
A (Agosto = August)
S (Setiembre = September)
0 (Octubre = October)
N (Noviembre = November)
D (Diciembre = December)

González explains that his name is due to the fact that his parents "like the months of the year" and that they had read in a newspaper there was only one other ‘Efmamjjasond’ in the world – the name of a school in the Dominican Republic.

Back in his native Colombia, the 24-year-old forward was been nicknamed as the ‘Goal Scorer of the Calendar'.

Gonzales joins from Real Santa Cruz in Bolivia but began his career at Atlético Nacional de Medellín, then San Lorenzo de Almagro, All Boys, Club Atlético San Miguel and Club Real Santa Cruz.

He came on a second half substitute in Saturday’s MTN8 semifinal first leg draw with Mamelodi Sundown at Soccer City and had one chance on the breakaway which he under hit. But he was ruled offside in a decision that television replays showed afterwards was incorrect on the part of the linesman.
