Wolkite City face Sidama Buna, Wolaitta Dicha and Adama City clash
Wolkite City take on Sidama Coffee and Wolaitta Dicha battle Adama City in matchday three of the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League schedule at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium.
In the first match, it's Wolkite City up against Sidama Coffee, who lost in their first week of matches.
Wolkite City has been playing to avoid relegation for consecutive years, but are now looking to change their fortunes with the signing of some top players.
They have started the league with their regular pattern of struggles after losing their first game of the season by conceding four goals in the first week.
The team led by coach Mulugeta Mihret will need time to integrate a number of new players that they have signed.
However, there are concerns that the points thrown away in each game could cost the team in the end.
Sidama Coffee, who are led by coach Seyoum Kebede, started the season with a strong squad.
They did stumble in their first week's match against Ethiopia Coffee, but it will not be difficult to recover from the defeat and return to winning ways.
Sidama will go into this match without their first-choice attacking talents, Yigezu Bogale and Philip Adjah, due to injury.
WOLAITTA DICHA V ADAMA CITY
Wolaitta Dicha will face Adama City in the second match of the day.
Wolaitta Dicha, led by Yared Gemechu, beat the newly promoted Shashemene City in the first week.
Wolaitta Dicha was a team that did not score a lot of goals in recent years but, on the other hand, they possess one of the meanest defences, and it has always been difficult to score against them.
They have lost their top attacking players such as Kalkidan Zelalem and Sintayehu Mengistu, but the youngsters Zelalem Abate and Binyam Fikre, as well as Baye Gezagegn, are expected to play an important role in the team's attack.
On the other hand, in Adama City, it seems that the new players, who have signed in place of the key players that they lost, will also need time to adapt to the team.
It has to be said that the team's off-field problems have tested their ability to compete at a high level in the past season.
