It was like saving the best for last on Thursday as Addis Ababa City beat Sebeta City 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at Bahir Dar International Stadium.
Fans of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League must have been thrilled with the goals.
Fitsum Gebremariam drew first blood for Sebeta in the16th minute. His namesake, Fitsum Tilahun, equalised for Addis Ababa City five minutes later.
Tilahun completed his brace to hand Addis Ababa a 2-1 lead on the half hour mark.
His Ghanaian strike partner, Richmond Adongo, rediscovered his scoring range to increase the tally to 3-1 on the stroke of half time.
Adongo added his brace early in the second half to make it 4-1 on 53 minutes.
Sebeta fought back gamely with Gebremariam again on the scoresheet in the 67th minute.
Samuel Saliso then pulled one more back for Sebeta on 88 minutes to bring the final scores to a more respectable 4-3 win for Addis Ababa City.The win moves Addis to the 11th position, one point behind Bahir Dar and Mekelakeya in 9th and 10th on 33 points.
Sebeta will definitely be relegated no matter the outcome of their final two games.
