Tarekgegn called up for Ethiopia

BetKing Ethiopia Premier League teen sensation Yosef Tarekegn has been called up for the senior Ethiopia national team along with the in-form duo of Tafesse Solomon and Oumod Okouri who are both making a comeback to the team.

Ethiopian national team coach Wubetu Abate called up 23 players on Friday for the upcoming Afcon 2023 qualifiers.

The squad, which is dominated by players from the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League, will now prepare for back-to-back Afcon clashes against the Guinea national team also known as the "Syli Stars".

The matches will be played on 24 and 28 March in Morocco on the orders of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following to failure of Ethiopian Authorities to present acceptable venues.

Ethiopia currently top group D ahead of Malawi and Egypt on goal difference with all the four teams tied on three points each.
