Fasil City beat St George 2-1, and Wolaitta Dicha defeated newly promoted Ethio Electric 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in the Ethiopian Premier League.

Wolaitta Dicha drew first blood in the 33rd minute of the first half thanks to an own goal scored by Ethio Electric defender Getahun Bafa.

They led 1-0 at halftime but Electric equalised 10 minutes into the second half with Eyob Gebremariyam on target in the 55th minute.

However, Tesfaye Melaku restored Wolaitta's lead just two minutes later on 57 minutes to go 2-1 up.

Carlos Dametew extended the lead to 3-1 in the 87th minute.

There was still time for another goal as Ethio Electric pulled one back on 90+5 minutes with the last kick of the game through Abel Habtamu, 3-2 the final score, and three points for Wolaitta Dicha

Elsewhere, it was the battle of the former winners as record champions St George played host to 2021 champions Fasil Kenema.

Fasil got off the mark as early as the 21st minute through Binyam Lankamo, and they held on to the lead not just to halftime but for all of 62 minutes.

St George needed an 83rd-minute penalty to find an equaliser, as Fitsum Tilahun converted to bring the score to 1-1.

St George thought they had salvaged a point with just seven minutes left but Fasil still found a winner three minutes later.

Mignot Debebe got on the end of a sweeping attacking play to power home in the 83rd minute, 2-1 it ended, a massive win for Fasil.
