Ethiopian Insurance thump Dire Dawa, Bahir Dar beat Hambericho

It was a goal feast in the Ethiopian Premier League on Friday as Ethiopian Insurance thumped  Dire Dawa City 5-0, while Bahir Dar City beat Hambericho 2-0 at the Hawassa University Stadium.

A brace either side of halftime by Fitsum Tilahun proved the difference for Bahir Dar City.

Hambericho had managed to hold Bahr Dar goalless for most of the first half until Tilahun struck just before the break.

Tilahun completed his brace in the 72nd minute and it was enough to earn them all three points.

Ethiopian Insurance, meanwhile, were firing on all cylinders courtesy of a hat-trick by Allan Kayiwa.

Kayiwa gave them a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute and Hayder Sherafamade made it 2-0 from the penalty spot just before the half hour mark as they took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. 

Kayiwa completed his brace just three minutes into the second half to make it 3-0 for Insurance.

Kayiwa secured his hat-trick on the hour mark with a goal in the 60th minute to bring the scores to 4-0.

However, Ethiopian Insurance were not done yet, as Biruk Mulugeta got in on the act with the fifth goal in added time to ensure an emphatic victory.
