Ethiopia Nigd eye top spot, Sidama host Dire Dawa

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), also known as Ethiopia Nigd Bank, have been challenging for the top spot from the start of this BetKing Ethiopia Premier League season, and they will go top of the table once again if they beat Shashemene City on Sunday.

The Bankers, along with their opponents, were promoted to the Premier League this season with the two teams experiencing contrasting fortunes so far.

CBE will go top of the table with a win on Sunday and with the array of experienced campaigners they have assembled, this looks like a big possibility, especially taking into account the creativity of Minyelu Wondimu in midfield.

No one will bet against the Bankers securing victory again considering their showing last week when they beat Hawassa 3-0, but you never know.

Shashmene City, on the other hand, have been the bottom team this season with the worst record (five defeats) and earning just one point from one draw.

Sidama Coffee, meanwhile, will play host to Dire Dawa in the other Sunday fixture.

Sidama Coffee will again try to free themselves from the struggles that cost them the services of of the greatest Ethiopian coaches, Seyoum Kebede.

They managed to play out a goalless draw with fellow strugglers Hadiya Hossana last week.

Dire Dawa have won one game out of six this season with two draws and three losses to place 13th.
