St George hope to revive their flagging title challenge when they face Ethiopian Insurance Friday without suspended head Coach Zerihun Shengeta.

Shengeta and his goalkeeper Coach, Wubshet Dessalegn were suspended Monday 6 April, following some poor results.

The last straw was last Sunday's 1-2 loss to Hawassa City which necessitated an emergency board meeting Monday where the leadership of the club's board announced the temporary suspensions.

The assistant coach Derje Tesfaye was appointed to temporarily lead the team with the youth team's coach Samson Mulugeta was appointed as the assistant coach.

The Horsemen are attempting to win the Premier League for the third season in a row but face stiff opposition from Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Mekelakeya who have been top since mid-season.

St George have won the Ethiopian Premier League 15 times, the most by any team.

The Horsemen do not look like they will be adding another title soon unless interim coach Tesfaye performs a miracle.

St George with 39 points from 23 games, are placed fourth on the log.
