St George mountain for Shashemene, Hadiya Hossana face Wolkite
St George will be aiming for their third win of the season when they take on new Boys, Sheshemene City
Hadiya Hossana and Wolkite City meet in the second game of the day.
The week 3 fixtures of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League second match day will be played at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium.
Hadiya will find Wolkite City determined to change their trajectory this week after a start that sees them back in relegation waters so early in the season.
Hadiya themselves have not fared better, as they are one of the clubs that are yet to register any victory in the first two matches of the league.
They suffered a 1-0 defeat in the second match against the Ethiopia Nigd Bank.
Hadiya only lost three consecutive matches' once last season. Yohannes Sahle's team will therefore be under pressure if they fail to win this match.
They will need to correct the gaps in their finishing seen in both matches so far this season.
Wolkite City lost 1-4 to St George in the first match and shared the points with Sidama Coffee in the second match with a late goal in the last seconds.
They have not been able to show improvements despite their high-profile signings which heightened expectations ahead of the season that they may be one of the title contenders.
Meanwhile, defending Champions, St George go into their game against Shashemene City in high spirits.
They are back-to-back champions and have also won back-to-back in their first two games against Wolkite City 4-1, and Hambaricho Durame 2-1.
They have played like they do not miss their Stars who left at the end of the last campaign but somehow, they have found new heroes with a new attacking partnership.
The combination of Abel Yalew and Ammanuel Erbo seems to have brought a new opportunity for the team.
They are supported in midfield by the combination of Nathnael Zeleke and Frimpong Kwame.
The opponent, Shashemene City, lost 1-0 in the first match to Wolaitta Dicha and in the second week, they lost 1-0 to Hawassa City.
Shashemene City is the only club that has failed to score in the first two league matches.
