Adama down Sidama, Ethiopia Coffee burn Shashemene City

Adama City beat Sidama Coffee 2-1 Sunday and Ethiopia Coffee defeated Shashemene City by the same scoreline.

Adama shot into a 1-0 lead early in the game with a goal scored by Mesud Mohammed.

Binian Ayiten increased the tally for Adama in the 20th minute and they took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

Sidama Coffee came into the second half fighting and Desta Yohannes pulled one back for them in the 52nd minute to make it 2-1.

Adama's 2-1 win moves them up to fifth on the log above St George, with Sidama Coffee in 12th place.

Shashemene City managed to hold Ethiopia Coffee at bay for 70 minutes before they cracked under the pressure.

Befekadu Alemayehu gave Ethiopia Coffee a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute.

Huzaf Ali equalized for Shashemene City two minutes later to make it 1-1, and they did their best to scrape a draw and a point, but Ramkel Jemes broke the hearts of Shashemene City fans with a late winner for Ethiopia Coffee in the 91st minute.

Shashemene City face a relegation battle with only 13 points earned thus far and languish in 15th place while Ethiopia Coffee move up to fourth place with 41 points.
