BetKing Ethiopia Premier League runners up from last season, Bahir Dar City have extended the contract of one of their top performers, Allelegn Azene
Azene was one of the leaders as the waves of Tana mounted a spirited title challenge before being narrowly pipped to the crown by St George.
There has been a mad rush for his signature after it emerged that his contract was up but Bahir Dar City, are desirous of going one place better than their second position in the Betking Ethiopia Premier League in 2022/23.
Azene has signed a contract that allows him to stay in Bahir Dar city for two more years.
The move will come as a relief for the Bahir Dar City faithfuls as they thought they had lost him but were delighted to see him unveiled like a new signing.
Azene played a total of 51 league matches and scored 5 goals in the two years he spent at Bahir Dar City.
The 24-year-old player started his football life in his hometown of Arbaminch City Club, from the junior team to the main team.
He played for Hawassa city before joining Bahir Dar city after Arbaminch city.
