Ethiopia Coffee beat Hadiya Hossana, Sidama and Wolaitta Dicha goalless

Ethiopia Coffee defeated the ultra-defensive Hadiya Hossana in a keenly contested tie, and before the main games, Sidama Coffee and Wolaitta Dicha's unfinished game from yesterday still did not produce any goals.

Ethiopia Coffee opened the account as early as the second minute with a goal by Amanuel Yohannis for 1-0.

Coffee doubled their tally on 20 minutes through their top striker, Mesfin Tafesse.

Having conceded two goals at the end of the first half, Hadiya Hossana came out smoking in the second half.

Ethiopia Coffee held on to the lead for 24 minutes of the second half, but Hadiya got their breakthrough on 69 minutes when Baye Gezahegn finished a sweeping move to pull one back.

The game finished 2-1 in favour of Ethiopia Coffee who now move to the fourth position behind Ethiopian Insurance with 38 points.

Hadiya Hossana dropped one place to sixth behind Hawassa who dropped to fifth.

The highlight of the day at the Hawassa University Stadium was the huge turnout of fans from both Sidama Coffee and Wolaitta Dicha to see the second half of their rained-off game from a day earlier.

Despite the fireworks, neither side could find the back of the net. It finished goalless with Sidama moving up to 10th but Wolaitta Dicha now in perilous circumstances in 12th above Wolkite.
