Ethiopia Nigd trounce Wolaitta, Fasil beat Wolkite

Ethiopia Nigd Bank consolidated their lead at the top of the Ethiopia Premier League with a whopping 5-0 win over Wolaitta Dicha on Thursday

Fasil Kenema, meanwhile, beat Wolkite City 1-0 in the second game at the Hawassa University Stadium.

It was a goal feast for the league leaders as they got out of the gates in the 20th minute when Wolaitta Dicha defender Fitsum Girma conceded an own goal to give the Bankers a 0-1 lead.

Basiru Umar increased the tally to 2-0 in the 28th minute and Simon Piter made it 3-0 before the break with his 44th-minute goal.

CBE did not let up in the second half with a fourth goal in the 55th minute through Ephrem Tamerat.

Kitika Jima made it 5-0 in the 78th minute -- a fantastic day at the office for the Commercial Bankers as the win that takes them to 53 points.

Wolkite City look like they will be playing in the lower league next season following another defeat, this time to Fasil Kenema.
