Nigussie and Segeta punished
The Ethiopian Premier League disciplinary body on Wednesday sanctioned, among others, Dagim Nigussie of Hadiya Hossana and Olani Segeta of Ethiopia Nigd Bank following the conclusion of Week 7 fixtures.
Seven games were played from Thursday to Sunday except the Sheger derby, which had been postponed.
The St George v Ethiopia Coffee fixture, which is the biggest game in league, was called off indefinitely.
A total of 28 yellow and two red cards were shown to players and team staff members.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank's team leader, Olani Seqeta, was banned for three matches and fined 10 000 birrs for his violent behaviour towards the referee.
Hadiya Hosanna's Dagim Nigussie was shown a red card after receiving two yellow cards for fouling two opponents in the match against Ethiopia Insurance.
Tewodrso Bekela, who was previously banned three matches, was again fined 25 000 birrs.
The coaches of Bahir Dar City, Degareg Yigzaw and Hawassa City were also summoned by the disciplinary committee.
