Ferran Olivella, who captained Spain to the 1964 European Championship, died on Sunday aged 86.
The former Barcelona defender, who played over 500 times for the Catalan giants between 1956 and 1969, won LaLiga twice and lifted the Copa del Rey four times.
"During his time as a player he was a top-class defender," said Barcelona on their club website.
Olivella served as a Barca director under president Jose Luis Nunez from 1989 to 1993.
