Ivory Coast win again, Kenya hammer Seychelles
Kenya ran riot against Seychelles on Monday, while Ivory Coast made it two wins from two at the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The action got underway in the Egyptian capital in the afternoon as Guinea-Bissau beat Djibouti 1-0 at the Cairo International Stadium, where Mauro Rodrigues scored the only goal of the game in the 39th minute.
Then a couple of hours later Ivory Coast maintained their 100 per cent record in Group F with a 2-0 victory over Gambia at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.
A goal at the end of each half from Christian Kouame (45') and Seko Fofana (85') ensured the Elephants remained in top spot on goal difference ahead of Gabon.
Meanwhile, Kenya got their qualifying campaign up and running when they dispatched Seychelles 5-0 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
The Harambee Stars raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of a quick-fire brace from Michael Olunga (3', 6') and Masoud Juma (45+3') added a third on the stroke of halftime before Rooney Onyango (62') and Benson Omalla (73') rounded off the scoring in the second half.
Elsewhere, a solitary strike from Emilio Nsue (9') handed Equatorial Guinea a narrow 1-0 win over Liberia at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Paynesville, while Mali and Central African Republic drew 1-1 at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, where Geoffrey Kondogbia (79') quickly cancelled out Kamory Doumbia's 76th-minute opener.
Madagascar put their first points in the board in Group I after claiming a comfortable 3-0 win over Chad at the Municipal Stadium in Oujda.
Njiva Rakotoharimalala broke the deadlock in the 10th minute and added a second with five minutes left on the clock before Loic Lapoussin (90+1') wrapped up the points in stoppage time.
