Four way tie at the top of the MTN Super League
Nkana FC have moved to the summit of the MTN Super League after they claimed a 2-0 home win over Mutondo Stars on Saturday.
But their lead is tenuous, with the top four teams all on 33 points, and Nkana (+14 goal-difference) ahead of Kabwe Warriors (+11), ZESCO United (+7) and defending champions Red Arrows (+33).
Idris Mbombo scored a brace of late goals for Nkana in the final two minutes after it had looked as though they would be held to a frustrating home draw.
Charles Sichilima scored the only goal in the first half as Warriors won 1-0 at Nchanga Rangers, while ZESCO United were held to a draw at Nkwazi on Sunday as they came from 2-0 down to at least take home a point.
Innocent Kashita and Kenneth Lasanga had Nkwazi 2-0 up at halftime, but Peter Musukuma and Freddy Michael drew ZESCO level.
Red Arrows kept up their title charge with a thrilling 3-2 home win over Power Dynamos.
They twice led through Angel Lubamba and Derrick Bulaya, but Dynamos equalised on each occasion via John Soko and Owen Tembo. Ciel Ebengo popped up to score. 93rd minute winner for Arrows.
Mufulira Wanderers secured the biggest win of the weekend with a 4-1 thumping of FC MUZA.
Goals from Clive Biyeta, Joseph Mumbi, Owen Mwamba and Evans Chisange handed them the win, while Andrew Phiri netted what proved a consolation for the visitors.
Forest Rangers finally found some form as they won 2-0 against ailing Zanaco. Quadri Kola and Benson Kolala scored goals in either half for the home side.
There were 0-0 draws between Indeni and Green Buffaloes, and NAPSA Stars and Atletico Lusaka.
In the other game on Sunday, Lumwana Radiants continued their excellent recent form with a 1-0 victory at fifth-placed Green Eagles. Radiants remain in the relegation zone, but only on goal-difference having taken 14 points from the previous 18 available.
