With Cape Town Spurs leading the way in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, South Africa’s first division will enter yet another exciting game week this weekend.
To begin with, Platinum City Rovers will host the University of Pretoria at Olen Park on Friday afternoon, with both teams winless in their last three encounters.
With a record of one loss and two stalemates in their last three matches, AmaTuks look to remain in the top half of the league table, while Platinum City Rovers currently occupy 12th spot.
Also, Black Leopards and Casric Stars will do battle at the Malamulele Stadium on Saturday, in what will be a crucial fixture at both ends of the table. Lidoda Duvha recorded their first win in 16 league games last week but remained in last position with just 17 points to their name.
As for Casric Stars, the Mpumalanga outfit remain in the running for a promotional finish this season. Sitting in third spot, Casric Stars are level on points with second-placed Polokwane City (46) and one point behind the table-topping Urban Warriors.
While Polokwane City are going through an inconsistent patch of results, Rise and Shine will take on Venda Football Academy at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Polokwane City suffered a damaging 1-0 defeat against Casric Stars last week and subsequently surrendered their lead at the top to Spurs. Venda Football Academy, on the other hand, go into the tie unbeaten in their last three fixtures.
