St George looking for another big win

BetKing Ethiopia Premier League champions St George go on the hunt for another big win on Thursday when they tackle Ethio Electric with the hope to extend their lead at the top of the table.

St George thrashed Ethiopia Insurance 7-1 at the Bahir Dar University Stadium in the opening weekend clash to secure the second highest scoreline ever in the league history.

EEPCO, meanwhile, lost 1-2 to Bahir Dar in their opening game.

St George may have lost Kenean Markeneh but they didn't lose their appetite for goals as they left no one in doubt about their title desires for this season.

Ismail Ouro-Agoro was the tormentor in chief for St George with his hat-trick. Frimpong Mensah, Tegenu Teshome, Binyam Belay and Chenet Gugsa (penalty) also got in on the goalscoring action.

Belay has already hit the ground running and St George will hope Dawit Tefera and Remadan Yussouf, who recently joined the team, find their range as well.

Ethio Electric may have been imperious in their promotion run from the Higher League but this is a different ball game and St George will be a baptism of fire for them and they know it.

They will look to Sentayehu Walcho to get on the scoresheet once again following his goal against Bahir Dar last week.
