With the Hollywoodbets Pro Series resuming this weekend, WSB Western Province Women and Fidelity Titans Ladies made emphatic statements with convincing victories in their respective Hollywoodbets Pro50 encounters on Saturday.
World Sports Betting Western Province cruised to a six-wicket win over Garden Route Badgers Women in Cape Town, while the Titans secured a dominant 69-run victory against the North West Dragons Women at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
At WSB Newlands, Western Province captain Leah Jones won the toss and elected to bowl first - a decision that initially appeared risky but soon proved inspired.
Jones and her side stuck to their plans with discipline and intensity, ripping through the Badgers’ batting line-up to leave them reeling at 33-6 after 12 overs.
Fast bowler Miya Lalor led the charge with a superb spell of 4-23, well supported by allrounder Jemma Botha, who claimed 3-7, while Tatum le Roux put the final nail in the coffin with her 2-19.
The visitors were eventually bowled out for 92 in 39.1 overs.
In reply, Western Province made light work of the modest target. Delmi Tucker (40 off 42) and Faye Tunnicliffe (25 off 33) guided the chase with composure as the hosts reached 95-4 in 17.4 overs to seal a comfortable victory.

TITANS SLAY DRAGONS
Meanwhile in Centurion, the Dragons won the toss and opted to bowl first, and the Titans posted an imposing 286-5 from their 50 overs.
Proteas Women batter Anneke Bosch was the standout performer, smashing a brilliant unbeaten 114 off 76 balls.
She was well supported by Tebogo Macheke, whose fluent 79 laid a strong foundation for the home side.
Despite their best efforts, the Dragons’ bowlers were unable to stem the flow of runs.
In response, the visitors struggled to mount a sustained chase, even with a fighting half-century from former Mignon du Preez.
The Dragons were eventually restricted to 217-9 after 50 overs.
Titans’ bowlers shared the spoils, with Samantha Schutte (3/41) leading the attack, while Angel Mngwenya (2-49) and Miane Smit (2-39) provided valuable support to secure a comprehensive win and further shape the Pro50 log standings.
