Celtic dropped points for just the second time in the Scottish Premiership this season as Hibernian survived a late onslaught to claim a 0-0 draw at Easter Road.

Brendan Rodgers' men paid for their efforts in a pulsating 2-2 Champions League draw against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and were subdued until a raft of substitutions in the second-half.

James Forrest came closest to breaking the deadlock for the Scottish champions when he volleyed onto the crossbar from a corner late on.

Hibs held out to extend Rodgers' wait for a win at Easter Road in four attempts over his two spells in charge of Celtic.

"I thought by the time we started to play with the speed and tempo we like, it was too late," said Rodgers.

"We just didn't play with enough speed. We did that in the last 20-25 minutes and the game looks different for us. By that time, we just couldn't make the breakthrough."

The Hoops edge eight points clear of Rangers, who can cut the gap at the top down to five with victory over Hearts on Sunday.

St. Mirren moved level on points with Rangers with a 4-0 thrashing of St. Johnstone to continue their fine start to the season.

Keanu Baccus' stunning strike broke the deadlock before Mikael Mandron's double and Greg Kiltie's goal ensured St. Johnstone remain without a league win all season.

Ross County remain second bottom after blowing a two-goal lead late on in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Motherwell.

All six goals came in the final half hour as County twice went two goals in front, through Eamonn Brophy, Simon Murray and Victor Loturi.

Arsenal loanee Mika Biereth helped salvage a point to end Motherwell's losing streak as he netted from the penalty spot and teed up Conor Wilkinson before Luca Ross equalised in stoppage time.

Dundee scored twice in the final 10 minutes through defender Joe Shaughnessy to beat Livingston 2-0 and move up to fourth.
