Bustling Ghanaian forward Yeboah had an eye for the spectacular and scored several truly remarkable goals in what proved a short stay in the Premier League. He did not do tap-ins.

The striker had pace and a rocket shot, arguably one of the most powerful the Premier League has ever seen, and he unleashed it on numerous occasions.

Born in Kumasi, he moved to Germany in 1988 and signed for Leeds from Eintracht Frankfurt for £3.4-million in 1995. Almost immediately he became a cult hero for his all-action style of play.

His incredible half-volley against Wimbledon won Premier League Goal of the Season in the 1995/96 campaign, but his strike against Liverpool that same season was arguably better and he later picked it out as his best ever.

He became only the third foreign player to net a hattrick for Leeds, after Eric Cantona and Phil Masinga, when he got a treble against Ipswich Town, and he netted 12 goals in each of his first two seasons at the club.

But injuries started to take their toll and he became less effective. In his third season he made only seven appearances without finding the back of the net.

He left for German side Hamburg for the 1997/98 season and though he spent five years there, could not match the heights of his early days at Leeds.    

He was named Player of the Year at Elland Road in 1996.
