Midfielder Mady Camara has been recalled to the Guinea squad after a three year absence, but captain Naby Keita has been dropped from the 23-man squad which will kick off their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign next week.

After the dismissal of Kaba Diawara earlier this month, the side will be coached by Frenchman Charles Paquille, who is of Guinean descent.

Also back in the squad are Antoine Conté and Cheick Condé while striker Serhou Guirassy has also been called up despite an injury which delayed his debut with new Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.

Guinea take on the Democratic Republic of Congo in Kinshasa on 6 September and then Tanzania on 10 September in Yamoussoukro.

Guinea’s lack of a suitable stadium to host international fixtures means they must host the Taifa Stars in the Ivory Coast capital.

Keita, who was an overage player and captain of Guinea’s under-23 team at the Paris Olympic, has not been able to find a new club as Werder Bremen in Germany look to offload him.

There are two local players in the selection – goalkeeper Kémoko Touré from Milo FC and striker Mohamed Saliou Bangoura from Hafia
