The latest instalment of UFC Fight Night in Shanghai came to an emphatic end this week, as Chinese fighter Song Yadong left fans at the Oriental Sports Centre in awe with a knockout win over Umar Nurmagomedov in the Bantamweight division on Saturday.
Both fighters showcased attacking intent throughout the first round as they landed numerous strikes on each other. Additionally, Song looked for an early guillotine choke that Nurmagomedov successfully stifled.

Song battled through a bloody eye in the fight after an accidental head butt but commenced the second round of five minutes in stunning fashion. After pressing forward, Song landed a crisp 1-2 before flooring Nurmagomedov with a strong uppercut to win the fight.
In the co-main event, 14th-ranked Denise Gomes took on home nation veteran and former title challenger Yan Xiaonan, with the former silencing the crowd with a first-round knockout win in the Women's Strawweight class.
Gomes had Xiaonan retreating early on with a barrage of punches as she tagged her opponent with a right hand to set the tone. Amid Xiaonan’s recovery, Gomes continued to unload on her opposite number before landing a vicious elbow that set up a combination of lefts and rights as Xiaonan fell to the canvas.
Elsewhere, Bilal Hasan and Nilson Rojas commenced the main card in the Flyweight division, with Hasan claiming a dramatic second-round knockout to win the bout.
Making his promotion debut, Hasan put his opponent on the back foot from the outset with solid body shots before dragging him to the canvas to assert himself.
While a kick put Hasan on the canvas briefly in the second round, the Indonesian got back to his feet before striking a powerful right hand that sealed the deal.
