Malawian international Precious Sambani has signed for Silver Strikers on a free transfer, the TNM Super League champions’ fourth signing this year.

Silver unveiled the 26-year-old left-back on Tuesday months after he quit FCB Nyasa Big Bullets citing some disagreements. He was earlier linked with a move to rookies Ekhaya FC.

The wing-back is coach Peter Mgangira’s fourth signing after landing midfielders Felix Demakude, Festus Duwe and forward Sam Adeyemi.

The former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers player Sambani, capped over 10 times, has been in and out of the senior team the Flames due to fluctuations in form.

Meanwhile, left-back Mark Fodya has since left the Area 47 side ending a trophy-laden nine years having joined from Wizards FC. He won silverware such as the TNM Super League, Airtel Top 8 and FDH Cup twice.

The 2025 Super League season kicks off on 29 March with a Charity Shield match between Silver and Mighty Wanderers, the Castle Challenge Cup holders.

The nine-time champions Silver will kick-start the Super League title defence on 5 April 2025.
