Sundowns confirm Rantie capture

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of former Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie on a three-year deal.
The club made the announcement on Tuesday as Rantie seeks to reignite his career having not kicked a ball in competitive football in almost two years.
The former Bafana Bafana marksman went on a self-imposed exile from football and then, after joining Cape Town City last year, was unable to shed excess weight that would allow him to play.

City attempted to get him fit to return to the field but gave up after five months and the player was released again.
Rantie has not played since October 2017 after walking out on his club in Turkey and forgoing a lucrative contract.
He told Genclerbirligi he had to go home for a relative’s funeral and never returned.
He has also turned out for Orlando Pirates, Swedish side Malmo and English Premier League club Bournemouth.
Rantie has 12 goals in 41 caps for Bafana since making his debut in June 2012.
