New leaders Red Arrows will seek to cement their place at the top of the MTN Super League when they host Mufulira Wanderers on Saturday, looking to expand their one point lead at the summit.

The 2021/22 champions have overcome a sticky start to the campaign to win their last five games in a row to race up the standings and take advantage of some recent slip-ups from those above them.

Wanderers are in mid-table, but have won their last two games, including a thumping 5-0 success over ZANACO last time out. They will be no pushovers and have in fact won their last two games against Arrows, including a 1-0 home success earlier this campaign.

Second-placed ZESCO United take on defending champions Power Dynamos in third on Sunday, with a draw probably suiting neither side.

ZESCO have led for much of the campaign but have won only two of their last five matches, which has allowed others to close in. Dynamos are unbeaten in seven with four wins and three draws, after they also had a poor start to the defence of their title.

ZESCO have lost just one of their last 21 at home (W14 D6), while Dynamos have won four the last five away (L1).

The last four meetings between the sides have ended in draws, while in the previous 35 it is 11 wins each and 13 draws.

Nkana FC have been in the bottom four for almost all the season, but three wins in their last five games have seen them climb to within two points of safety.

They have a tricky home game against Forest Rangers on Saturday, which they will see as winnable, but their mid-table opponents are unpredictable and can be a match for anyone on their day. Rangers have not won any of their last 17 games on the road though (D8 L9).

Nkwazi will go to Kansanshi Dynamos as they seek to push the league leaders, though they trail Arrows by eight points and have plenty of work to do.

They actually have the fifth worst defence in the league, so their season has been a mixture of narrow wins and heavy defeats. Dynamos are only outside the relegation zone on goal-difference.

In other games on Saturday, Green Buffaloes host Konkola Blades, Kabwe Warriors welcome Prison Leopards, FC MUZA entertain Green Eagles and Zanaco will look to bounce back from their heavy defeat when they tackle NAPSA Stars.

There is also another game on Sunday as Mutondo Stars host bottom side Trident, who are still seeking a first league win at the 22nd attempt. With both these sides in the relegation zone and stars having lost their last five games in a row, maybe this will be their chance.
