Enock Sakala Jnr scored four goals as ZESCO United ensured they would finish second in the MTN Super League this season following a thumping 5-1 win over relegated Trident FC on Saturday.

The Championship has already been secured by Red Arrows, who were held to a 0-0 draw by mid-table Green Eagles, but ZESCO ensured they would get the runner-up spot and CAF Confederation Cup football next season.

They moved to 59 points from their 33 games, four ahead of Power Dynamos in third place with one round remaining.

Sakala Jnr had netted his four goals by the 65th minute, the last from the penalty spot, as David Simukonda was also on target.

Reagan Mtonga netted a consolation for Trident.

Power Dynamos managed a 1-0 win over Mufulira Wanderers thanks to a goal from Frederick Mulambia late in the first half, while Mutondo Stars ensured their safety from relegation with a 1-0 success at ZANACO.

A Chisha Kampamba penalty in the first half gave them the three precious points.

The relegation equation is almost complete, with both Prison Leopards and Kansanshi Dynamos confirmed for the drop despite wins in round 33.

David Obashi scored a penalty as Leopards won 1-9 at Nkwazi, and Bruce Musakanya and Dalitso Lungu were on target for Dynamos against FC MUZA.

Konkola Blades were held 1-0 by NAPSA Stars which virtually ensures their relegation.

They are in the fourth spot in the drop-zone with a -9 goal-difference and trail Forest Rangers (-5) and NAPSA Stars (-4) by three points.

They will travel to Leopards on the final day and will hope for a big win, while at the same either Stars lose heavily at home to Power Dynamos or Rangers do likewise at home to Kansanshi Dynamos.

Stars hit the front through Vincent Oburu but Victor Mubanga equalised for Blades.

Rangers lost 1-0 to Green Buffaloes on Sunday as Chilimba Mooonga scored the only goal of the game late on.

Mwamba Mutombo (penalty) and Prince Mumba netted for Kabwe Warriors as they beat Nkana 2-0.
