ZESCO United looking to kick-start season in MTN Super League
With defending champions Power Dynamos and FC MUZA involved in CAF club competition matches this weekend there is not quite a full programme of matches in the MTN Super League, but still plenty of actions for fans to enjoy.
Current leaders Nkwazi FC travel to Green Buffaloes, who have lost two of their opening three games this campaign.
Nkwazi have not lost any of their previous three visits and there have on fact been no home wins in the last seven meetings between these sides, but overall Buffaloes have enjoyed the better of the clashes down the years.
They have won 12 of the last 26 league meetings, with six victories for Nkwazi and eight draws.
Deposed champions Red Arrows are unbeaten in three games so far (W1 D2) and they host promoted Trident, who by contrast have just a single point so far.
ZANACO have five points from their first two games as they welcome Mufulira Wanderers, who have an identical record.
Three of the last five clashes between these sides have finished 1-1, but the two other games were 6-0 and 6-1 home wins for ZANACO.
ZESCO United have had a mixed start with a win, draw and defeat in their opening three games, and will be hoping for a home win against promoted Konkola Blades.
The latter’s last win over ZESCO came in 2013, with their previous eight meetings ending in seven wins for the latter.
Forest Rangers go to promoted Mutondo Stars having drawn their last two games, while Prison Leopards, one of eight sides with five points (W1 D2) so far this season are at Kansanshi Dynamos.
Finally, Kabwe Warriors host winless NAPSA Stars on Sunday.
