Arrows drop points again as Power Dynamos top
Defending champions Red Arrows have been held to a fourth successive draw in the MTN Super League after a goalless clash with MUZA FC, which has seen them knocked off the top of the table.
It was more dropped points for the side, who have scored only twice in that time and seen their charge towards defending the title they won last year stutter.
It has allowed Power Dynamos to leap to the summit of the Super League following a 1-0 victory over Nchanga Rangers as Kennedy Musonda scored the only goal inside half-an-hour following a Brian Mwila assist.
Dynamos head the table by a single point, with only three points separating them and Prison Leopards in fifth.
Forest Rangers moved into third thanks to a 2-1 win at Lumwana Radiants as Libamba Moyela and Zimbabwe striker Thomas Chideu found the back of the net. Josphat Kasusu netted the consolation for Radiants.
Green Buffaloes climbed to fourth on the back of their impressive 3-1 win at ZESCO United, who again flattered to deceive in what is now back-to-back losses that sees them languishing in ninth place.
Buffaloes scored early through Robin Siame and Jack Chirwa, before John Kosamu added a third midway through the second period. Samson Mkandawire scored a last-minute consolation for ZESCO.
Struggling Nkana FC got a much-needed win as Alex Ng'onga scored the only goal for them in a 1-0 success at Green Eagles.
Struggling Chambishi also got a vital victory as they won 2-1 away at NAPSA Stars. An Andy Boyeli brace in the first half set them on their way, but it was a tense finish when Augustine Mulenga scored for Stars with 12 minutes remaining.
Justin Shonga equalised for Nkwazi after they had fallen behind to an Isaac Ngoma goal for Prison Leopards. The match finished 1-1.
And the battle of the basement boys also ended in the same scoreline as Ronald Olaki put Buildcon ahead, but James Phiri equalised for Kabwe Warriors. It is just a third point of the season for Buildcon.
