Nkwazi beat Zesco to continue perfect start to MTN Super League

Nkwazi scored late on to secure a 1-0 victory over Zesco United in their MTN Super League clash on Saturday, leaving the side top of the table with two wins from two in the early part of the season.

Brian Masanyinga scored the only goal of the game on 88 minutes to seal the victory and inflict a first defeat of the campaign on Zesco, who have taken four points from a possible nine so far.

Nkana FC lost for a third straight game when they went down 1-0 at Green Eagles to remain rooted to the foot of the table, the only team yet to secure a point. Freddy Michael grabbed the winner on 75 minutes.

Champions Power Dynamos were held to a second successive 0-0 draw this season as they battled in front of goal at promoted Konkola Blades, while it also ended goalless between Napsa Stars and Kansanshi Dynamos.

FC Muza ended the fine start of Mutondo Stars with a 2-0 home win after goals from Kelvin Mwanza and Andrew Phiri.

ZANACO won by the same scoreline at promoted Trident, with goals in each half from Chawanangwa Kaonga and Dennis Nganga settling the contest in their favour.

Kabwe Warriors came from 2-0 down to secure a point at Mufulira Wanderers, who raced into the early lead thanks to a brace from Clive Biyeta.

But Warriors kept on fighting and after Prince Mumba pulled one back, Mathews Tolopa scored an equaliser four minutes from the end.
