The MTN Super League returns following a hiatus for the cup quarterfinals that were played last weekend and it is a chance for Power Dynamos to further enhance their status as champions-elect.

They currently hold a seven-point lead over second-placed Green Buffaloes with eight rounds to play and if they can extend that to double figures, they will be very hard to catch.

Dynamos welcome Zanaco on Saturday, who are on a poor run of six games without a win (D2 L4) and should be no match for their hosts.

That being said, Dynamos have actually been better away from home this season and have been held seven times on their own patch. Zanaco’s last trip to Dynamos was a 3-3 thriller in 2021.

Buffaloes have a tricky away clash at Green Eagles, where they will hope to utilize the best away defence in the league to grind out a result. The visitors have only conceded six goals in 13 away games this season.

Promoted FC MUZA are the surprise package in third place, gunning for Caf club competition football next season. They host Kansanshi Dynamos, who have won only one of 12 on the road this campaign.

Forest Rangers in fourth go to Prison Leopards, who could overtake them in the table with a win. Leopards have only lost once at home all season (W5 D6), an achievement only bettered by unbeaten Nchanga Rangers. Rangers have lost their last three.

Zesco United’s bid for Caf club competition next season is growing ever more desperate and after back-to-back losses will look to return to winning ways at home to Kabwe Warriors, who sit three points above the regelation zone but also only three behind Zesco.

Defending champions Red Arrows host Nkana FC, with both on a decent run of form after difficult seasons to date. This is a real chance to push on for Caf places.

In other games on Saturday, Napsa Stars host bottom side Buildcon, while Lumwana Radiants host Chambishi.

In the game on Sunday, improving Nkwazi host Nchanga Rangers in their bid to avoid the drop. Three wins in their last four games has seen them move to within three points of Rangers in safety, so this is a huge match-up.
