It is tight at the top of the MTN Super League with only three points separating the top four sides in the table going into this weekend’s full round of matches.
Leaders Red Arrows will host defending champions Power Dynamos in a battle between clubs who have lifted the championship trophy in the last two seasons.
Arrows have certainly looked the sharper in the early stages of the campaign with 18 points from their first nine games, while Dynamos have stuttered and are winless in three (D1 L2) and sit five points behind them.
Arrows won 5-1 when these sides last met in June, but Dynamos claimed the reverse fixture last season 4-0 in a tale of two contests. Overall the latter have won 17 of their previous 34 league meetings.
Kabwe Warriors are the surprise package in second place in the table, also with 18 points but behind Arrows on goal-difference. Warriors have taken 13 points from the last 15 available in the league.
They will host mid-table Green Buffaloes, who have not fared well on their travels so far with a single point from the 12 available this campaign. Both meetings between these sides last season finished 2-2.
FC Muza are in third place and welcome Prison Leopards, who have won one of their first nine games and sit third bottom of the league. Muza will feel this is a home banker.
Zesco United have had an up and down time of it with two wins in their last five games and travel to Zanaco, who are one point and a single place behind them on the league table.
It is an age-old battle between these two, with no away wins in this fixture in the last 11 clashes since Zesco won 1-0 in 2018.
Other matches on Saturday see Forest Rangers hosting Napsa Stars, Mutondo Stars welcoming Konkola Blades and bottom side Trident awaiting the visit of Mufulira Wanderers.
Nkana FC got their first win of the season last time out and on Sunday will look to go back-to-back when they host Nkwazi. The latter have won only five of their previous 25 clashes against Nkana, though they did get an away win as recently as 2021.
