Power Dynamos took another giant step towards the MTN Super League title with a 2-0 home win over Nkana FC on Saturday, putting them on the brink of a first championship since 2011.

Goals in the final 15 minutes from Andy Boyeli and Tranquilin Mwepu handed Dynamos the victory and put a severe dent in Nkana’s hopes of finishing in the CAF club competition places next season.

Dynamos have 59 points and an impressive +28 goal-difference, with only two clubs still able to catch them.

Green Buffaloes, who are in action against Kansanshi Dynamos on Sunday can get to 60 points if they win all four of their final games, while FC MUZA can also get to 59 points, though their modest +7 goal-difference means it is unlikely they will overhaul Dynamos in any event.

The smart money in on Dynamos lifting the trophy with their next match away at fourth-placed Forest Rangers on May 6.

FC MUZA romped to a 4-0 success at home to Buildcon as Emmanuel Manda, Solomon Mpasela, Andrew Phiri and Francisco Kapilingo scored the goals.

They move up to 47 points, two behind NAPSA Stars in the second CAF Champions League qualification place but with a game in hand.

Stars were the only other team among the 14 that were in action on Saturday to score as they defeated Nchanga Rangers 2-0. Kapembwe Musonda and Frederick Mwimanzi scored the goals.

All other matches finished 0-0 as Green Eagles hosted Forest Rangers, Kabwe Warriors welcomed Zanaco, Lumwana Rangers played host to Prison Leopards and Red Arrows travelled to Nkwazi.
