ZESCO move joint top of MTN Super League
ZESCO United moved into joint top at the summit of the MTN Super League following a 2-0 victory over rivals Nkana FC on Sunday, their first victory in four games.
Second-half goals from Fred Michael and Edward Lungu sealed the victory for ZESCO, who beat fourth-placed Nkana to end their run of fine form.
Kabwe Warriors sit above them on goal-difference only after they defeated Mufulira Wanderers on Saturday.
Francis Banda, Kabaso Chongo and David Obashi were all on target for Warriors in their comprehensive home win.
Defendign champions Red Arrows were held to a 0-0 draw by FC MUZA, while Power Dynamos beat bottom side Indeni FC 3-1.
Eddy Ankobo, Fredrick Mulambia and Titus Chansa all scored for Dynamos, while Simon Mwenya got what proved a consolation for Indeni.
Saviour Phiri lived up to his name as he scored twice to help struggling Zanaco to a 2-0 away win at Atletico Lusaka, though they remain in the relegation zone.
Lumwana Radiants kept up their excellent recent form with a 2-1 win at home to Nchanga Rangers as Charles Lubasi and Paul Tembo scored their goals.
Wesley Sichande pulled one back late on for Rangers.
Green Buffaloes let a 2-1 lead slip as they lost 3-2 at home to Forest Rangers.
Perkins Mumba and Eric Chomba scored for the hosts in the first half, but Quadri Kola, Tiki Chiluba and Bruce Musakanya, two minutes from the end, earned the points for the visitors.
NAPSA Stars and Nkwazi played to a 1-1 draw as Innocent Kashita put the latter ahead, but Godfrey Binga equalised for Stars.
Finally, Mutondo Stars defeated Green Eagles 2-1 as Richmond Adongo and a penalty from Jackson Kampamba earned them the points.
