With Polokwane City, Cape Town Spurs and Casric Stars separated by goal difference at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, the race for automatic promotion to the PSL continues this weekend.
To begin with, Cape Town Spurs will host Platinum City Rovers at Athlone Stadium on Friday afternoon, with the Urban Warriors being one of the most feared sides at home this season. Platinum City Rovers’ on the other hand, plummeted to 14th position on the log and after going on a run of six matches without a win.
The Mother City outfit claimed a crucial 2-0 win over fellow promotion chasers Casric Stars last week and subsequently closed the gap at the top of the table.
Casric welcome the University of Pretoria to the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Saturday and will look to complete a league double over their opponents this weekend, after claiming a 2-1 win against AmaTuks in October last year.
Rise and Shine face a tricky test in the form of JDR Stars this weekend, with the game set to take place at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium on Friday. JDR Stars recorded two wins in their three encounters, which included a 2-0 victory over high flyers Cape Town Spurs earlier this month.
