The Motsepe Foundation Championship title race will go down to the wire as Cape Town Spurs, Casric Stars and Polokwane City are separated by just two points at the top of the table.
Cape Town Spurs moved to the summit after they beat NB La Masia 2-1 at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Urban Warriors bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Venda Football Academy as they registered their 17th win of the season to go a point clear of Casric Stars, with La Masia unmoved in 13th place after going winless in their last two games.
Casric Stars slipped down to second position after being held to a 1-1 draw by Venda Football Academy at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
Stars slipped up for the second match in succession to open the door for Spurs and Polokwane, having played out to a 1-1 draw with Pretoria Callies last weekend. VFA sit 11th in the standings after extending their unbeaten run to four outings.
Polokwane City kept their title challenge alive with a 2-0 victory over Platinum City Rovers at Olen Park.
Rise And Shine arrested a two-game winless run to close within two points of the league leaders in third spot, while Rovers remain 14th in the table after suffering a third defeat in five encounters.
Elsewhere, All Stars went 10 games undefeated in the league with a 3-1 victory over relegated Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
All Stars leapfrogged Hungry Lions into fourth place after inflicting a 21st defeat of the season on Lidoda Duvha, who are a point adrift of TTM at the foot of the table.
Hungry Lions saw a four-match unbeaten streak come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Baroka at the Global Stadium.
Lions had picked up eight points from their previous four outings but slipped down to fifth place on goal difference as Bakgaga moved up to 10th spot following back-to-back wins.
In the other action around the country on Sunday, University of Pretoria triumphed 2-0 against TTM at the Tuks Stadium, Pretoria Callies edged JDR Stars at the TUT Stadium, while Magesi and Uthongathi shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
