There will be little margin for error at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table this weekend, as the likes of Polokwane City, Casric Stars, JDR Stars and Cape Town Spurs compete for competitive spots in the latest round of league games.

This week's league action will start with Venda Football Academy taking on TTM at the Thohoyandou Stadium, while Platinum City Rovers and Hungry Lions do battle at Olen Park on Friday afternoon.

Venda will be looking to build on their 1-0 away victory against Platinum City Rovers last week, with TTM going into the fixture on the back of a demoralising 5-0 loss against JDR Stars.

Hungry Lions remain on course for a promotion finish and trail leaders Polokwane City by four points going into their next encounter.

Platinum City Rovers, on the other hand, recorded three defeats on the spin and head into the game sitting in 12th spot on the table.

On Saturday, the University of Pretoria will make their way to the Thohoyandou Stadium, where they will meet Black Leopards who are sitting at the bottom of the log.

Leopards are winless in their last nine Motsepe Foundation Championship ties, while AmaTuks recorded four losses and one win in their last five league ties.

JRD Stars, who are currently on a four-match winning streak, will square off against MM Platinum, who suffered four successive defeats going into their next game.

Meanwhile log leaders Polokwane City are seeking to get back to winning ways when they take on Magesi at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Rise and Shine suffered a 3-1 loss against Baroka last week, allowing Casric Stars to draw level on points (30) at the summit of the league table.

Then, Uthongathi will play host to Casric Stars at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the travelling side boasting a form record of four wins and a draw in each of their last five games.

Elsewhere, Pretoria Callies and Baroka will go toe-to-toe at the popular Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium this weekend, with the Tshwane side looking to build on their recent set of victories.

On Monday, the Athlone Stadium will see Cape Town Spurs host All Stars with Shaun Bartlett’s side continuing their PSL promotion bid.

The Urban Warriors have notched four wins out of their last handful of games, while All Stars are currently on a four- match unbeaten streak.

*All games will start at 3:30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).
