AmaZulu FC will battle it out with an amateur side Tornado FC in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2) .
Usuthu are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership having registered their third successive draws when they drew 1-1 with Maritzburg United away last weekend.
The KwaZulu-Natal giants are looking to reach the Nedbank Cup Last 16 for the first time since 2021 having made their only appearance in the final in 2010.
Romain Folz, the AmaZulu head coach, has made it clear that they know what to expect from Tornado having studied the Northern Cape-based side.
“We’ve planned for them as we would for any other game regardless of the fact that we haven’t played them or they’re not in our league,” Folz said.
“We had our scouts who travelled a couple of weeks ago to scout them in person, all the way over there so we’ve prepared the game to our maximum ability and work ethic.
"So it doesn’t change anything (playing lower-league opposition). For me, it doesn’t change anything. We are professionals and we face every opposition with the same level of professionalism," he added.
"It’s an important competition for us, therefore we prepare for it with the same dedication.”
Meanwhile, Tornado are making their debut appearance in the Nedbank Cup having reached this round of the tournament following a successful qualifying campaign.
Known as 'Die Wind', Tornado, who are based in Upington, emerged as 3-2 winners over Kuruman Kicks in the final provincial qualifier in October last year.
Die Wind are coming into the match against AmaZulu having succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Benfica in ABC Motsepe League (Northern Cape - Stream A) last weekend.
