They have a 50-50 record in penalties in the two games they have drawn away.

Given the fact they have lifted the trophy three times, it is a big percentage. Four away fixtures have gone to draws and they have won three of those via penalty shoot-outs. That could well be the a scenario against Stellies.

Usuthu have certainly not had it all their own way with almost as many defeats as wins at home in the Nedbank Cup, suggesting it is not much of an advantage for them. They did beat amateur side Young Ones 14-0 on their own patch in 2008. They have won three penalty shootouts out of their four drawn games, and have not lost a Nedbank Cup tie outright at home since a shock 3-2 loss to lower league Ubuntu Cape Town in 2018.

They have advanced in their last four away ties.

Their two drawn matches have both ended in penalty shootout losses to TS Sporting and Baroka FC.

They were involved in one of the most extraordinary Nedbank Cup ties when they drew 4-4 away at BidVest Wits in 2019 and won on penalties.
