Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune are targeting their first ever Nedbank Cup final.
This game sees the teams with the two best offences in this season's Nedbank Cup take each other on, Stellenbosch have scored 11 goals and Sekhukhune United 10.
Stellenbosch have scored a goal every 24.55 minutes and Sekhukhune have scored a goal every 27 minutes, in the Nedbank Cup this season. They are the two teams who have needed the fewest minutes to score a goal in the tournament this season.
Of the four semifinalists Stellenbosch have conceded the most goals (four), while Sekhukhune have let in just one goal to this point.
This is the first Cup game between the teams.

Stellenbosch have faced only top-flight opposition to reach this stage, they overcame Swallows 3-0 in the round of 32, then defeated TS Galaxy 6-3 and Sundowns 2-1 in the round of 16 and quarterfinals, respectively.
Sekhukhune began their tournament with a 6-0 home win over third-tier Liver Brothers, they then defeated second-tier Cape Town City 2-0 also at home in the round of 16, their only away game thus far came in the quarterfinals. It was also the first time they conceded a goal in the competition this season as they won 2-1 away against Chippa United.
They have met four times previously all in league games. Of these matches Stellenbosch have never won, the only game to produce a result ended in a 1-0 win for Sekhukhune as they visited Stellenbosch in the league this season. The game on 14 January saw Chibuike Ohizu score the game’s only goal for Sekhukhune.
The other three games between the teams have all ended 1-1, with Stellenbosch as hosts in one game and Sekhukhune in two others.
Sekhukhune have never lost away from home against Stellenbosch, winning one game and drawing one. Both were league clashes. They have already won away from home against Stellenbosch this season, winning a league game 1-0.
Sekhukhune have scored in all of their previous games against Stellenbosch.
The winner of this game becomes the 29th different team to reach the final of the Nedbank Cup since its inception in 1971.

This is the furthest that Stellenbosch have reached in the Nedbank Cup tournament.
Should Stellenbosch win they will become the first team from the Western Cape since Ajax Cape Town in 2015 to reach the final.
Should Stellenbosch reach the final they will become the third team from the Western Cape to reach the final after Santos in 2001 and 2003, and Ajax in 2003 and 2007 and 2015.
Since 2016 when they were formed Stellenbosch have, from the round of 32, played seven games at home in the Nedbank Cup, their record reads W2 L5.
Prior to this season, Stellenbosch had lost all four of their five Nedbank Cup games at home from the round of 32 onwards. In 2017 they lost 3-0 to Chiefs. They did defeat Highlands Park 1-0 in the round of 32 in 2018. In 2019-20, their first season in the topflight, they lost on penalties in the round of 32 to Maritzburg after the game ended 2-2 and in 2021-22 they lost 1-0 to Baroka, also in the round of 32.
This season Stellenbosch have defeated Swallows 3-0 in the round of 32 and Sundowns 2-1 in the quarterfinals at home.
Stellenbosch have been involved in just one game in the Nedbank Cup from the round of 32 onwards that has gone to penalties. In 2019-20 their round-of-32 match ended 2-2 before they won the game on spot kicks. They lost the game 5-4 on spot kicks.
Stellenbosch have been involved in the highest-scoring game in the tournament thus far. They defeated TS Galaxy 6-3 away from home in a nine-goal thriller in the round of 16.

Should Sekhukhune United reach the final, the Limpopo province will have a representative in the final for the third season in a row. In 2021 TTM lifted the cup while last season Marumo Gallants were runners-up.
Should Sekhukhune reach the final they will be the fourth team from the Limpopo province to reach the final along with TTM, Marumo Gallants and Black Leopards who were the first to do so in 2011.
Should Sekhukhune reach the final the Limpopo province will become the second after Gauteng to have at least four different representatives make the final in the PSL era.
In the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons Sekhukhune were eliminated in the round of 32, to Maritzburg United and Platinum City Rovers. They were away from home for both games.
Their win over Liver Brothers in the current competition was Sekhukhune’s first in the tournament from the round of 32 onwards.
In total Sekhukhune have faced DStv Premiership opponents only twice previously in the Nedbank Cup. In 2020-21 they lost to Maritzburg 2-1 away from home in the round of 32. This season they won 2-1 on the road in the quarterfinals against Chippa United.
In two previous games against top-flight opponents in the Nedbank Cup both of Sekhukhune’s matches ended 2-1, they won one and lost one. They are yet to keep a clean sheet against top-flight opponents in the competition.
Sekhukhune United have been involved in one penalty shoot-out previously in the Nedbank Cup against Platinum City Rovers in the round of 32 in 2021-22. The game ended 1-1 before they were beaten 3-2 in the shoot-out.
For Sekhukhune Chibuike Ohizu is their leading scorer this season with seven goals in 19 games in all competitions. In the Nedbank Cup he has two goals in three appearances and has made one assist.
