The draw for the second round of this season’s Nedbank Cup will be conducted on Wednesday, before the conclusion of the last of the first-round ties.

The draw for the last-16 is being held at the SuperSport studios at 6pm, an hour before the match between TS Galaxy and Vasco da Gama kicks off at the Mbombela Stadium (live on SuperSport at 7pm).

There are already 10 teams through to next round after the opening round of cup matches at the weekend, which kicked off with victory for Marumo Gallants at Pretoria Callies in Friday’s first game.

They have since been joined in the last-16 by holders Orlando Pirates and fellow  top-flight outfits Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City plus Baroka, Cape Town Spurs and Durban City from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Mpheni Home Defenders are the only side from the third tier ABC Motsepe League who have advanced, after upsetting Hungry Lions, who are one division higher, in Thohoyandou on Saturday.

On Monday, Cape Town City are away at Sekhukhune United in a top-flight clash (live on SuperSport at 7pm) while the match between Milford and Royal AM is off while the fate of the latter lies in the balance.

Royal AM have had all their fixtures postponed while the club struggles to stay alive amid financial problems for its owner Shawn Mkhize.

On Tuesday there will be three more first-round ties with another top-flight clash as Carling Knockout winners Magesi hosts SuperSport United in Polokwane (live on SuperSport at 7pm).

AmaZulu are up against amateur Mighty Eagles while Stellenbosch host second-tier Kruger United.
