Stellenbosch will be heading back home to the Danie Craven Stadium after this weekend, returning to their home venue after months of renovation.
The club play at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday in their last African Confederation Cup fixture against Singida Black Stars of Tanzania but will then be back at their home ground, where they last played in September when they played out a goalless draw with Durban City.
“It means we don’t have to sit in a bus for two hours, getting to the stadium in Cape Town,” said coach Gavin Hunt.
“We need to get that home feeling back on Friday nights again. I like the Friday night fixture. Certainly, we need to get back home. There's no two ways about it.”
Stellenbosch, however, will have their first game back in the Winelands town on Wednesday, March 18, when they host Magesi, and then they have another home game this month, to AmaZulu on Friday, February 27.
In their first season of top-flight football in the 2019/20 campaign, the club played all their matches in Cape Town because there was no adequate venue in Stellenbosch.
