Orbit College defeated Magesi FC 2-1 at the Seshego Stadium on Tuesday evening to move out of the red zone in the Betway Premiership.
The Mswenko Boys came into the clash placed last on the log, but first-half goals from Lucky Malatsi and Gomolemo Khoto took them to their sixth victory of the league season (breaking a six-game win drought in the process) and lifted them two spots to the safety of 14th.

Dikwena tsa Meetse, meanwhile, suffered a 14th league loss of the campaign and dropped to 15th place – the relegation playoff spot.
Their standing will drop even further if 16th-placed Marumo Gallants can avoid defeat at home to TS Galaxy on Wednesday.
The match lasted just 10 minutes before being suspended due to inclement weather. After almost an hour’s delay, the fixture was resumed and Orbit claimed the lead in the 22nd minute via Lucky Malatsi, who turned home Kobamelo Setlhodi’s cross from the right flank.
Magesi nearly levelled the game just a couple of minutes later, as Mcedi Vandala’s volley from a corner kick flashed just wide of the mark.
In the 37th minute the visitors doubled their advantage, with Gomolemo Khoto picking up the ball on the edge of the penalty area before placing a superb left-footed shot into the corner of the net.
Dikwena tsa Meetse hit back shortly before the interval, with Motsie Matima getting onto Vandala’s in-swinging corner kick and glancing home a header at the near post for 1-2.
The hosts made a triple change at the start of the second half, with Edmore Chirambadare, Tshegofatso Nyama and Thabang Sibanyoni introduced off the bench.
And they nearly levelled the game in the 49th minute, with Sifiso Luthuli striking the post with a left-footed shot after running onto a flick-on.
Following that scare, Orbit were much more compact and disciplined in defence, sitting deep and allowing Magesi to control possession in front of them – ensuring that the hosts were limited to hopeful long-range attempts for a while.
However, Magesi began to exert real pressure in the final quarter hour of regulation time, creating several notable chances and routinely causing panicked scrambles in the visitors’ 18-yard area.
Yet the closest they came to an equaliser was a curling effort from Chirambadare in the 85th minute which clipped the top of the crossbar – leaving the match to finish 2-1 in favour of the Mswenko Boys.
The teams will return to Premiership action this coming Saturday, 9 May, with Orbit at home to AmaZulu FC, and Magesi hosting Orlando Pirates.
