The Premier Soccer League has finally confirmed the fixtures for the 2026 MTN8 quarterfinals this weekend, with the action kicking off when defending champions from the last four editions, Orlando Pirates, host Durban City in Soweto on Saturday.
Pirates are chasing an unprecedented fifth successive title in the top-eight competition, having lifted the trophy in five of the last six years.
They come up against Nedbank Cup champions Durban City, with kick-off at 15h00.
Later that evening, Mamelodi Sundowns will play their first competitive fixture of the 2026-27 Premier Soccer League season when they host Polokwane City at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 18h00.
Sundowns had their Betway Premiership clash at the weekend postponed, as they only arrived back from a pre-season camp in Austria in the last few days, having started their preparations late due to the passing of midfielder Jayden Adams.
Kaizer Chiefs begin their hunt for a first MTN8 title since 2014 when they host Lamontville Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Sunday at 18h00.
There will be much optimism around Naturena this week after their 3-1 victory over Kruger United in their opening league clash on Saturday.
The last of the quarterfinals will see AmaZulu host Sekhukhune United at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday at 15h00.
